The zoom to fit tool, found in the editor toolbar, provides a quick and easy way to zoom to a view that displays all of the objects in the plan.

This is a convenient way to look at everything that has been added to the plan, especially if the current zoom level leaves you confused about where you are in the plan.  The work area will zoom to display the entire plan, with a margin of about 5% to facilitate object selection of all objects in the plan.  Using the fit tool will not change the current edit mode.  In other words, whatever editor tool was active before clicking "Fit"  will still be active after using the fit tool.

Note: You can also invoke a zoom to fit command from the keyboard by pressing the [Ctrl] and [0] keys simultaneously, or by selecting the Plan: Fit to View command from the View menu.

Note:  The Fit tool was developed to accommodate plans that were created within the confines of the Create a Plan command, which does not use the maximum available work area.  The maximum work space goes up to 1,000’ x 1,000’.  The largest area displayed by the Fit tool is approximately 800’ x 700’.  Use the scroll bars to work with plans of this maximum scale.
